Greener Photography is proud to announce our 2011 Sponsorship opportunities.  In just 2 years, Greener Photography has grown from a website to share information to an international non-profit with members on four continents.  This rapid growth has taken place with limited resources and an entirely voluntary board and staff.  We are very excited by this success and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Please contact us to receive complete information about supporting our 2011 education initiative or engaging our speaking services.

The Greener Photography Education and Outreach Plan

The Greener Photography Education Committee has developed a plan to promote a healthy and growing eco-friendly photographic community.  The Greener Photography Education and Outreach Plan comprises:
    1.    Professional Photographer Education: Speaking tour, live Webinar series and video series.
    2.    Outreach Program: Trade show booths, printed and on-line guide to eco-friendly photography product and suppliers (“The Green Guide”).
    3.    Consumer Education and Information: A new consumer-oriented section on our popular website, accompanied by consumer-oriented newsletters, product reviews, and a video series.

Goals of the GP Education and Outreach Plan

The primary goal of the Greener Photography Education and Outreach Plan is to educate professional photographers about the products and techniques they can easily integrate into their business that will reduce their impact on the environment.

Our secondary goal is to put green products in front of as many professional photographers as possible.  We intend to do this with our GP info booths at trade shows such as WPPI 2011 and our printed Green Guide booklet.  The Green Guide booklet will be an 8.5x11 booklet with information of green albums, green prints, green packaging and more!  This will be delivered to everyone who joins our free newsletter.  We will also dispense these at our trade show booth and have an insert with a guide to booths where green products can be found.

Our third goal for this year is to begin to translate our professional photographer information into applicable information for consumers.  With 100,000,000 digital cameras in the US, we know this is where we can have our greatest impact.

Three-year Objectives
    1.    Increase knowledge of and concern for the environmental impact of photography among professional photographers, amateur photographers and hobbyists, photographic service providers, and manufacturers within the photography industry.
    2.    Research and disseminate information about greener photographic services, techniques  and products.
    3.    Increase Greener Photography’s and its partners’ visibility and credibility.
    4.    Significantly increase Greener Photography’s professional photographer member base.
    5.    Build the value of Greener Photography membership.
    6.    Increase demand for greener  services and products.

Strategies to Meet the Objectives

Professional Photographer Education Program:
    1.    Speaking Tour (60 1 hour presentations per year)
    2.    Membership approval process
    3.    Produce video series (5 topics per year)
    4.    Produce webinar series (12 topics, 1 a week on a rotating calendar)
    5.    Write and disseminate 50 weekly newsletters targeting professional photographers per year?
    6.    Produce and disseminate a monthly newsletter for professional photographers
Outreach Program
    1.    GP information booth at WPPI 2011
    2.    Earth Day tele-summit.
    3.    GP Green Guide distribution.
    4.    Develop and publish 12 monthly spotlights on greener vendors/products.
    5.    Provide green consultation for professional photography trade shows.
    6.    Provide consultations for industry vendors on running greener businesses.
    7.    Drive consumer dollars to greener photographers/products.
    8.    Write 50 weekly blog posts on topics of interest.
    9.    Write, publish, and disseminate 40 articles about greener photography techniques and products.
    10.    Review and approve applications for 200 greener professional photographers per year.
Consumer Education and Information Development
    1.    Create a consumer-oriented part of the website that informs and educates amateurs, hobbyists and general consumers.
    2.    Research, write and disseminate 40 articles for a consumer focus.
    3.    Produce video series on 5 consumer focused topics per year.
    4.    Produce and disseminate a monthly newsletter for amatuer photographers.

Resources/Budget
To implement the strategies above, we need to transition Greener Photography from a volunteer-led effort to a well-established, professionally staffed organization. We will use a combination of technical consultants, in-house staff, and contractual arrangements to implement the ambitious education and outreach plan outlined above.

Professional Photographer Education
In order to continue and expand our education program, we will expand our research and information to different formats to reach a wider audience. A professionally-produced video series and webinar series, available both on greenerphotography.org and through partnering organizations, will disseminate these educational materials more efficiently and more widely, reaching professional photographers around the world when it is convenient for them.

Outreach Program
Greener Photography’s plans to establish a presence at national trade shows will bolster networking efforts and help disseminate information and education to professional photographers, manufacturers, and service providers within the photography industry.  In addition, we are implementing a one-day live educational forum:“Earthday telesummit.”

Consumer Education and Information Development
To mitigate the very large ecological footprint of consumer photography, Greener Photography will create an entirely new section of the website dedicated to this audience. Like the information available to professional photographers, the consumer education and information will include professionally produced videos, regular newsletters and updates, and product reviews.
